What did I think?:
I’ve been reading the Carson Ryder series in strict order like a true little obsessive compulsive! The title pretty much gives us the gist of what the story is about, and I found this latest offering in the series quite enjoyable. We know who the perp(s) are from the beginning, its merely waiting for the detectives to figure it all out.
There are some great characters in this book – my favourite has to be “The Gumbo King,” Ryder’s new partner in crime. I found the fact that he wore a little crown hilarious and was quite intrigued about his back story. Maybe there will be more to come of him? I hope so! I did however miss the banter between Ryder and his regular partner Harry Nautilus, and hope that he will be fighting fit in the next installment. Decent crime book for fans of the genre and I look forward to reading more.
